Protect your investment; you spent good money to increase the curb appeal of your home or business, with a beautiful exterior painting job. Now what? Although it should last for years, natural elements such as sun, rain, and dirt can damage your exterior and shorten its life. Therefore, to make the most of your investment you should check the painted surfaces a couple times a year, especially after severe weather conditions, to see if touch ups and maintenance are needed.
Below are 3 helpful maintenance tips to keep the exterior of your home looking good longer:
1.Dirt. Remove any dirt or grime before it has a chance to build up by power washing the exterior of your house, store or office building.
2.Rust. You can remove rust with a mixture of 1/2 cup Epsom salts to every 1 cup of water you use.
3.Mold and mildew. Use household bleach to the exterior walls affected with a 3-to-1 ratio of water and bleach. Work the solution into the surface and go approximately 1 ft. beyond the affected area. Keep the area wet while it sets in for 20 mins, then rinse thoroughly. First, be sure to protect any surrounding shrubbery, plantings, or grass with plastic.
